      JHS209-S05-100 Ship-borne Electro-optical Surveillance System (EOSS)

1.1 Brief Introduction

JHS209-S05-100 ship-borne electro-optical surveillance system is a highly integrated optical-mechanical-electro system equipped with a HD 1080p 30× daylight camera, an uncooled LWIR thermal camera and a 5km laser range finder. The system is slaving to a 2-axis and 2-gimbal stabilized platform. Featured with compact and modular design, it is provided for ships meeting civilian requirements such as search, observation, reconnaissance and tracking sea-surface and air targets, widely applied in navy, coastal guard and maritime etc.

1.2 Main Functions

  • 2-axis (azimuth and elevation) stabilization, high accuracy gyro and servo control system implement full coverage reconnaissance.
  • Support HD SDI image transmission and IP network video/image transmission
  • Compact size, light weight, strong adaptability, low power consumption and high cost-efficiency.
  • Video tracking function.
  • High accuracy correction ensures optical axis of thermal camera, daylight camera and laser range finder are alignment.

1.4 System Composition

1.4.1 Gimbal

Gimbal is a sensor unit (optical cabinet) slave to a two-axis (elevation and azimuth) gyro stabilized servo platform. Sensor unit is equipped with a high resolution 640×512 LWIR uncooled thermal camera, a 1920×1080 HD daylight camera and an eye-safe laser range finder, capable of detection, recognition, identification, tracking and ranging target at day and night. The external interface is 26pin aviation connector plug. Pin definition refer to Part 6 Annex 6.2.1 Gimbal Interface Definition.

1.4.2 Control Box

As the command and control center of full system, the control box includes joystick, operation mode switch, IR and Daylight image adjustment, laser ranging, tracking, gimbal movement etc. Please refer to Fig. 3 to see the control box overview. External interface is a 12pin aviation connector. Interface definition please refer to Part-6 Annex 6.2.2 Control Box Interface Definition.
